As part of the NevRwaste Food Waste Avoidance project, food saving tools were sent out to households in Myrtleford at the start of November 2009.

As part of the NevRwaste Food Waste Avoidance project, food saving tools were sent out to households in Myrtleford at the start of November.  They included:

  • A thermometer to ensure your fridge is running at the correct temperature (1-5oC) and maintain the best quality and lifetime out of your food.

  • A poster perfectly sized for your fridge, which contains information on fruit and vegetable storage to maximise their lifespan.

  • A fridge magnet that contains handy hints on how to minimise food waste in the home.  This magnet was designed to hold your poster on the fridge.

These Food Saving tools aim to avoid food waste in your own home.  They are now available to householders outside of Myrtleford!  To obtain a pack of these tools, contact the Organics Project Manager on (03) 5722 9498 or e-mail organics@nevrwaste.vic.gov.au  your details.  Hurry, stocks are limited!!
